The New Harmony Project is a national arts organization whose mission is to nurture writers in the development of scripts and new works that interrogate the complexity of hope. For nearly four decades, The New Harmony Project has served as a quiet but powerful force behind some of the most meaningful storytelling in American theatre, television, and film. At the core of our work is a simple but profound belief that when writers are cared for, they can create stories that change the world. NHP is creating a new anti-oppressive arts landscape through the creation of an artistic community that prioritizes equity, nurtures writers, and connects authentically with organizational partners. Our flagship program is a 10-day residency for writers in the pastoral town of New Harmony. In Indianapolis, we produce a series of new play readings and workshops throughout the year, called PlayFest Indy.
