Profile
Kan-Kan is Indy’s only locally grown, independent, not-for-profit arthouse cinema & bar, now featuring The Final Cut, a pizza by-the-slice shop from King Dough. We are a neighborhood gathering place and home for film-lovers, food-lovers and community-seekers, in Windsor Park, just northeast of downtown Indianapolis. The mission of Indianapolis Film Project, Inc. – the 501(c)3 that powers Kan-Kan Cinema – is to exhibit high quality films, to entertain and educate people from all backgrounds, and to inspire conversation and community engagement.
We show all manner of films, especially small-budget, big-idea-driven, endlessly-fun-to-talk-about movies. There’s something for everyone: narratives, old favorites, documentaries, classics, comedies, works from local filmmakers, you name it. We also curate a number of different film series and unique movie-going experiences.
The Kan-Kan houses three theaters for a total of 225 seats, as well as two event spaces available for rent. Each theater has stadium-style seating, Dolby Digital sound systems and is fully ADA accessible. The staff is dedicated to maintaining excellent movie-viewing conditions for our guests at all times.
